In 2015, we started the implementation of the project "Virtual Open-Air Museum of the Shipwrecks of Gdańsk Bay", financed by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage and the National Maritime Museum in Gdańsk. One of the effects of our work is this website, where we can mix 3D models of wrecks from the Bay of Gdańsk with their descriptions and additional documentation.
By the end of 2018, we plan to place another four wrecks in our "Virtual Open-Air Museum", including the wreck of the ORP "Wicher". In the following years, our "open-air museum" will be enriched with new 3D models.
All wrecks presented in the "Virtual Open-Air Museum of the Gdańsk Bay Wrecks" are under legal protection. The sites are located in the basin (sea area) administered by the Maritime Office in Gdynia. Diving on them requires the consent of the Maritime Office in Gdynia (GUM). Applications are considered by the Marine Measurements Department of the GUM.

The "Gulf of Gdańsk Shipwreck Virtual Open-Air Museum" website (www.wsw.nmm.pl) has been created under the "Gulf of Gdańsk Shipwreck Virtual Open-Air Museum. Recording and Inventory of Underwater Archaeological Heritage" scientific research project, co-financed with the funds from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
